Professional Business Internship I & II (PBIC): The Professional Business Internship aka: "PBI" class will provide a national "Work Keys" certification program to extend a qualification for workforce readiness.  The ares of certification include "Reading for Information" "Mathematics for Workplace Success" and "Information Location" for workplace success. This course facilitates student opportunity to take the skills and competencies learned in prior ROP business/computer-related classes into a real world business environment. Essential employability skills focus on empowering the students with competencies needed for success in a business environment. Academic skills reinforcement transitions math, reading and writing into the workplace. Content area skills also include business concepts, office machines, computer applications and the Internet.  "PBIC" (Professional Business Internship Club) is an on-campus Club in support of program-building interests, with a vision for participating in FBLA (Future Bus. Leaders...)

 

Entrepreneurship I: This course provides students with the information needed to start a business operation. Students will learn how to identify a business opportunity, understand business legal structures, small business budgeting, record keeping methods, staffing, marketing and promotion. Instruction will include an introduction to the elements of a Business Plan, including Marketing and Technology.*


Business Technology I: A project-based program that uses a simulated business environment to provide instruction in the selection, use, and integration of current software applications. Students learn the different tasks involved in the daily operation of a business, and use the appropriate software and systems to complete these tasks. Tasks include the area of communications, research, record-keeping, financial management, presentations, and marketing. Students will build competency in word proc-essing, spreadsheet, presentation, database, internet, windows, and file management skills. *


Business Technology II. Students expand the complexity of tasks to be accomplished in the areas of communications, research, record-keeping, financial management, presentations, and marketing. Students increase their skill levels in word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet, windows, and file management. *

Career Focus - Business: This course explores various careers in the Business and Service Industries and prepares the students for entry level jobs in the field. Instruction includes an introduction to Business, Entrepreneurship, Customer Service and Financial Planning; as well as hands-on practical experiences in the areas of Business Administration, Hospitality, Sales & Marketing. Students learn the requirements and opportunities for post-secondary education; develop a personal career/life plan while learning valuable foundational skills that will benefit them throughout their school and work life. *
